A totally new way to distribute cinema, this has been an adventure of all dreams. To share the movie with the people in the summer nights. People arriving with their bicycles, walking, roadtripping all the way from the summer cottages to come to see the film.

SYNOPSIS 
Oh Summer Night, Eternal Love, Endless Highway and Endless Midnight Sun! 

"And only in love you can find the mirror that, by looking at, becomes more visible than yourself. lt doesn't make you, it just looks back, makes you the most of yourself. And nothing ends, and it doesn 't begin, but has always existed. And there that woman stood, and you couldn 't get her image out of it. There will be no such mirror images of you at these mirrors, but only one. Not one in life, but in all eternity." 

Paola Suhonen's From the Midnight Sun to Eternity is a film about the right to self-determination, its loss, love larger than life and betrayal - life at its strongest. 
Two lost people meet by chance on a hot highway. They are united by a growing adventure, the inexorability of the passage of time, the presence of a secret and the longing for love. Acting as each other's mirrors, they travel through Finland gilded by the midnight sun, finding something bigger than the moment: another similar, themselves and their dreams. ln eternity, no one is alone. 

ln the film, the past world and the future meet, creating a desire to live here and now. There is still time for eternity, but when that time comes, you will know that you have lived powerfully.

From the Midnight Sun to Eternity has been filmed with an exceptional chronological technique, on 16mm film and with Suhonen's characteristic True Fiction style. The sensitive acquaintance of the film's main characters is followed in an authentic timeline. Carefully east characters and strong personalities from ali over Finland, as well as unique, authentic locations color a wistful childhood-like, 
warm-hearted, hauntingly beautiful and multi-layered adventure. 

TOUR 
From the Midnight Sun to Eternity had  its world premiere in Helsinki in an invited guest screening on Friday, May 16, 2025. 

The world premiere will start a exhibition tour covering the whole of Finland. The motive of the tour is - in accordance with Ivana Helsinki's values of encouraging community and genuine encounters between people - to bring different layers of people to the same cultural experience and at the same time prevent growing social and cultural polarization.

The film tour, which will take place during the years 2025-2026, comprises a total of 60 locations, each of which will show one screening of the film. Performance venues are, for example, clubhouses, working houses, village halls, old people's homes, prisons, old abandoned cinemas and camping grounds. 
The performances of the tour are free for the public, so that everyone, regardless of their background, can have a shared art experience. Screenings are announced and marketed locally. The tour schedule can also be found at www.ivanahelsinki.com
